Event Technician

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre is currently in search for an Event Technician to join our team. This critical role will report directly to the Manager, Event Production Services. As part of the Facility Operations team, the Event Technician will be responsible for onsite electrical and plumbing installations and changes, as we work together to achieve our vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

  • Using your in-depth knowledge of electrical capabilities, voltage restrictions, wiring methods and load capacity, you will work together with your team to complete electrical and plumbing requirements as outlined in event work orders safely and to standards.
  • You will assist in pre-event installation planning, providing recommendations and suggestions, preparing required equipment and ordering supplies to meet event needs.
  • Around our event schedule, you will also perform shop duties including testing, inspection and maintenance of electrical tools and equipment.



  • You bring technical experience in the entertainment industry, combined with strong knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • You excel working with tight deadlines and under pressure, with a paramount focus on workplace safety.
  • You are available and willing to work evenings and weekends in accordance with event schedules.
  • Limited Entertainment Certification or Live Performance Entertainment Certifications are a strong asset.
