Marketing & Communications Specialist (16-month contract)

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre is currently in search of a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team for a 16-month contract. This exciting role will report directly to the Manager, Marketing. As part of the Sales & Marketing team, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will enhance the corporate brand by providing internal graphic design services and digital expertise, as we work together to achieve our vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

  • Conceptualize, design and produce traditional and digital marketing material, including advertisements, sales collateral, and signage.
  • Develop and produce presentations for various facility needs
  • Provide programming and website content management support
  • Conduct video production and editing as required
  • Provide copywriting and editing support for marketing and communications needs
  • Support content curation for social media marketing
  • Manage marketing assets and the Client Gift and Corporate Merchandise Program
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners and suppliers


  • A combination of post-secondary education in Marketing and/or Communications and demonstrated experience in graphic design, digital marketing, and website development.
  • In-depth knowledge and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong presentation development skills in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML5, PHP and Java
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and strong working knowledge of Hootsuite and Google Analytics
  • Excellent project management skills, and the ability to prioritize and work collaboratively to meet tight deadlines
  • A keen eye for detail, passion for design and exceptional graphic design capabilities.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and comfortable using a broad range of communications styles for different audiences in diverse situations.
