Senior Accountant

BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), owner and operator of BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre, is currently searching for a Senior Accountant to join our team.

This integral role provides assistance to the Finance Team by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, generating internal and external financial reports and any other activity related in order to ensure that all relevant activities related to financial operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Prepares bank reconciliations, bank journal entries, and bank deposits.

  • Records fixed assets additions and maintain fixed asset sub-ledger.
  • Prepares monthly amortization schedules for deferred contributions, deferred revenues, and prepaid expenses.
  • Prepares documents, processes and reconciles internal and external accounts.
  • Prepares cost reports or statements for ongoing projects.
  • Updates the company’s debt schedules and performs the interest expense calculation.
  • Assists with the preparation of schedules that support note disclosures to financial statements.
  • Assists with the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reporting package.
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations and validates the information to ensure there are sufficient audit supports.
  • Arranges for on-time completion and filings of GST, PST, WCB, NRT tax returns, and statistics questionnaires.
  • Assists with ad-hoc accounting duties and special projects as requested.
  • Records and posts journal entries.
  • Supports billing and receivables management.
  • Generates internal and external financial reports.
  • Updates monthly working papers in preparation for financial statements and external auditors

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • You bring a combination of education, training, and experience in Finance and Accounting, and have your CPA designation or are in active pursuit.
  • You will be familiar with centralized financial software programs.
  • You have solid knowledge of PSA and GAAP standards
  • You do everything within your role to deliver quality, service is driven, reliable and timely financial operations.
  • You demonstrate exceptional communication skills and are comfortable using a broad range of communications styles to different audiences in diverse situations.
  • You will also possess a high degree of organization, detail orientation, and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • You take personal responsibility for your work and collaborates positively with others toward common goals.
  • You take initiative to find better ways, new methods, and process to create efficiencies and achieve operational excellence.
