Manager, Exhibits

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) is currently in search for a Manager, Exhibits to join our team. This key role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Venue Operations. As part of the Venue Operations team, the Manager, Exhibits will review and interpret the installation of exhibitor orders, as we work together to achieve our vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Using your understanding of venue operations, you will review and process exhibit requirements, provide cost estimates, resolve billing and service concerns, and minimize revenue loss.
  • You will hire, lead, schedule, and evaluate our Exhibit Services Coordinators in the successful execution of Exhibit Services.
  • Using your strong interpersonal skills, you will act as a liaison between Exhibit Services, Event Managers, and venue departments to ensure issues are resolved and follow up is provided.
  • With your strong focus on service excellence, you will attend client site tours and pre/post-events to ensure smooth and effective event operations.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • You bring the combination of training and managerial experience in Business or Event Management with a demonstrated understanding of trade show logistics and exhibit services.
  • You hold yourself and your team accountable to service excellence through establishing high standards, measuring performance and implementing initiatives of continuous improvement.
  • You demonstrate exceptional communication skills by articulating a vision for the team by delivering a clear and intentional message and checking for understanding. Empathy, self-awareness, and presence are essential.
  • You will require a high degree of visual attention to review detailed event plans and information.
  • You will be mentally and physically fit to walk through our venue’s interior and exterior for extended periods of time during event hours. There is some exposure to fumes, noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and variable outdoor conditions.
